Falmouth is no exception, with a thriving cultural scene boasting galleries, theater and a diverse local music scene, in addition to world-renowned science and research in the eclectic artist’s colony of Woods Hole. Fill your visit with plays and poetry readings, lectures, art exhibits, concerts and more, but don’t miss your chance to learn to see what’s happening every day at the Woods Hole Oceanographic and the Marine Biological Laboratory, where Rachel Carson first studied in 1929. Be sure to stop by the Rachel statue in Woods Hole’s Waterfront Park by Cape Cod sculptor David Lewis, known for his iconic work in front of the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, to get a selfie with Falmouth’s First Lady of Science.
