Falmouth has a rich farming history, and one of the most prominent figures is the late Tony Andrews, who emigrated from Cabo Verde and made his mark on the Falmouth landscape beginning in 1927, when he and his uncle, Peter purchased land for their future family farm. At the time, Falmouth was contributing to half the strawberry crop for the entire state of Massachusetts. Tony Andrews Farm continues to be the most prominent strawberry grower in the area, and your summer visit to Falmouth isn’t complete without a visit to this local gem.

Now that summer’s finally here, so are the strawberries, and you can stock up at their indoor farm stand, but nothing beats the satisfaction of spending a lazy morning under the June sun picking your own sweet reward. It’s a great farm-to-table activity for the kids, offering a tangible lesson about the importance of reducing one’s carbon footprint. Tis the Season at Tony Andrews
The long-anticipated strawberry season is expected to run until mid-July at Tony Andrews Farm, located at 394 Old Meetinghouse Road in East Falmouth. You can pick your own strawberries and sugar snap peas every day from 10 am to 4 pm, or until picked out, and weather-permitting.
