Historic North Falmouth
North Falmouth boasts nooks and crannies waiting to be explored. You can spend an entire day in this historic village that offers something for everyone, from cyclists to boaters to oyster aficionados.
Olde Cape Cod
The bucolic setting of North Falmouth Village harkens back to a simpler time, with wide tree-lined streets that surround the historic Congregational Church. Whether you’re stopping through during your Falmouth visit, or looking to spend the day, all you need can be found at Four Corners. Start your morning with some mindful meditation at The Yoga Collaborative, followed by a picnic with the kids at Nye Park. Nearby beaches include the cobalt seas of Megansett Harbor and Old Silver, perfect for swimming, boating, paddle boarding and swimming, and rainy days are ideal for getting lost in the stacks of the North Falmouth library.
The picturesque Shining Sea Bikeway begins in North Falmouth and follows the route of a former railroad line. Free parking is available across the street from the path’s start, at the Depot Road trailhead along County Road. You can pick up a rental at Art’s Bike Shop just down the road, and whether you’re cycling, running, walking or rollerblading, you’ll be rewarded with unforgettable vistas along the way, from marshland to marine life, passing through West Falmouth, downtown Falmouth, Quissett, and ending in Woods Hole. It’s the only bike path on Cape Cod that offers an ocean view, so take advantage of the locale and stop for a refreshing swim along the way.
Make it a Date
A unique array of dining options abound, so cap off your day with dinner in the village. Our favorites include the charmingly hip Epic Oyster, tastefully appointed in a former diner, and Bucatino Restaurant & Wine Bar, a more formal setting just around the corner on Nathan Ellis Highway. Both are loved by local and visitors for their inventive offerings and craft cocktails. The Silver Lounge is a family favorite, famous for sizzling steaks and burgers and the coveted caboose seating that the kids will love. Whether it’s just the two of your or the whole family, head back to Megansett or Old Silver and close the day with a stunning sunset.
