Landfall Restaurant

Your visit to Woods Hole isn’t complete without a stop at the Landfall Restaurant, where brothers Donnie and Jimmy Estes carry on a family tradition that began with their father, David, back in 1946. Offering premier waterfront dining boasting killer views of Great Harbor, this is your go-to for any occasion, from post-beach cocktails to weddings, rehearsal dinners and family celebrations.

The ambiance is an experience in itself. The interior is constructed from wood sourced from shipwrecks and boards from old buildings, while the exterior is decked out in a rainbow array of weathered buoys. This is the place where world-renowned scientists mingle with local fishermen for a Dark and Stormy or a freshly-squeezed specialty cocktail on a Friday afternoon.

Savor only the freshest in local seafood and award-winning clam chowder, but to complete your experience, don’t forget the quahogs (pronounced ko-hogs), Cape Cod’s quintessential appetizer. In a hurry while waiting for the ferry? Grab an order of fish bites and a drink and head out back to the dock where you can literally dip your toes in the water and watch commercial vessels mingle with boaters on their way to and from Martha’s Vineyard.

Entertainment also runs the gamut from local band Crooked Coast’s powerhouse Friday night residency in the high season (Fourth of July to Labor Day), to afternoon acoustic sessions by local musicians. Open from April to December, the Landfall is a community stapled beloved by residents and tourists alike. Stop in on your next visit to Woods Hole and you’ll be hooked.
