Osteria La Civetta

Led by husband-wife team Sarah and Andrea of Northern Italy, this small restaurant on Main Street Falmouth serves authentic Italian cuisine with fresh pasta made daily and a wonderful selection of fresh seafood.  

There is so much to love on this menu but the house speciality is an amazing butternut squash ravioli with sage butter sauce, exactly as you might expect it served in Europe.  Another favorite appetizer is the bruschetta with rough cut fresh tomatoes and garlic on a crusty piece of white bread. Or try the unique fava bean puree made with the distinctive beans plus potato and topped with a clump of garlicy spinach.

This neighborhood bistro is open for dinner all year long, and sits at the northern end of Main Street with huge glass windows opening onto the streetscape.  In summer, there are tables outside and in winter diners enjoy looking out the frosty glass onto one of Cape Cod’s most charming streets.

A fine wine list complements the menu, and the choice of desserts is also impressive.  Don’t leave without trying the chocolate salami – a mousse cake made with biscotti that is original and delicious all at once.
